It is natural that at the holiday time we remember those less fortunate than ourselves. We think of sharing with family and friends, food and drink the giving and receiving of gifts. And we remember that there are those who cannot participate in these activities because of their dire economic circumstances. Sometimes we try not to dwell on it for too long, lest it tarnish our own festivities. And besides, we know that there are many organizations to help those who are in need. But, one thing we need to remember is that 'there but for the Grace of God go I.' We are in our lives of plenty because of God's Grace and his blessings on us. Others - for whatever reason - have ot been as fortunate as we. To them we owe our abundant charity, our giving nature, our loving peace. |
